Miniature Horse Show Fraud
In all horse shows there is a possibility of cheating and fraud, but
some professional miniature horse show exhibitors say that miniature horse
show have untraditional types of fraud.
While rare, there have been publicized cases of inappropriate and
unethical behavior at
miniature horse shows. These infractions include:
- Ringers -
In some shows, similar-looking ponies might be substituted in the show ring.
- Stretching
- During height measurement, some contestants may "stretch-out" their
pony, attempting to make its overall height small enough to qualify for
the class.
- Biased Judges
- There is a great deal of subjective opinion as to the "correct"
conformation of miniature horses.
Some miniature horse breeders allege that some
championship miniature horse shows are "rigged", and the winners
pre-determined.
