About the Calynche horse scam

Tiny ponies have been bred for size since the 1950's when they were called "midget ponies".  As the breed got smaller and the breeders greedier, they coined the term "miniature horse" for their dwarfed Shetland ponies, in hopes of driving up prices.

There have been many names for tiny Shetland ponies, including micro-mini and pygmy Clydesdale, all made-up nonsense.

In the decades that followed, other name have been given to tiny ponies, most recently the Calynche horse. (pronounced with three syllables "Cay-lynch-ie").

The Calynche breed name a scam, propagated by a greedy breeder in the United Kingdom.

According to the scammers, an extreme Calynche horse is under 29 inches tall at the withers, a standard which includes thousands of AMHA registered miniature horses.

Don't be fooled by Calynches.  In 2005 there was no such thing as a Calynch horse, and some fraudster is counting their money, laughing at the gullibility of uneducated consumers.
